Kwekwe General Hospital receives equipment worth US$110 000

Kwekwe General Hospital has received a major boost in the fight against COVID-19 following a donation of an assortment of health equipment worth more than US$110 000 from Zimasco mine this Wednesday.

This comes as part of efforts to fully equip frontline workers in the battle against Covid-19.

Speaking after receiving the equipment, Midlands Minister of State for Provincial Affairs Senator Larry Mavhima urged other corporates to emulate Zimasco and contribute towards this national effort.

“We urge other sectors in the province to come on board and take a leaf from what Zimasco has done in the fight against the pandemic.”

Zimasco Executive Chairman Mr Lu Xi’angku said their company is dedicated to working with the Ministry of Health and Child Care and will continue to support health workers and the community in the battle against COVID-19.

“As Zimasco mine we will continue to offer our support in this battle against COVID-19. We pledge to continue working with the community.”

Kwekwe Hospital Medical Superintendent Dr Patricia Mapande thanked the mine for the kind gesture and urged other local entities to come on board and support the less privileged.

“We thank the mine for their unwavering support and dedication, this has demonstrated that what travels fast is love to the underprivileged.”
