Zimasco (Pvt) Limited, a major player in Zimbabwe’s Ferrochrome sector, has an exciting and challenging career opportunity within its Shurugwi & South Dyke Mining Division.
Applications are invited from suitably qualified, competent and experienced individuals to fill the vacant post of Boilermaker Class 1 on a 5-year Fixed-Term employment contract basis, renewable subject to performance
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE
- Apprenticeship qualified or National Certificate Qualified Class 1 Boilermaker.
- At least 5 years post-qualification experience as a Class 1 Boilermaker in a heavy industrial or mining environment.
- Demonstrate knowledge of multiple welding processes such as SMAW/Stick, FCAW, and TIG.
- Ability to communicate at all levels both verbally and written
- Working knowledge of safety management system(s) applicable to mining operations/companies, preferably the NOSA and/or ISO Systems.
- Good working knowledge and experience of an ERP system, preferably SAP.
- Clean Class 4 Driver’s Licence
KEY PERFORMANCE AREAS
- Interpreting technical drawings.
- Fabricate, repair and install equipment and structures as per technical drawings.
- Ensuring safe use and storage of Oxygen- Acetylene and welding equipment.
- Inspect plant equipment, detect and rectify defects for proper functioning and reliability.
- Ensuring adherence to scheduled maintenance, inspections and service of all mechanical systems to maximise plant availability.
- General housekeeping in the workshops.
- SHE Management within the Maintenance & Projects section.
